Microsoft Word Skills - Diary Entry Task

Follow the instructions below to format the diary entry on page 4. Once you are finished, please save the file to your desktop or documents folder as "Last Name + First Name + Diary Entry" and send it to me for grading.

Copy everything on Page 4 to a new blank Word document (Highlight the text on page 4 - Control + C). File - New - Blank document.
On the new document, Select All (Control + A) - give everything a Left indent of 0.5" [Layout Tab - Paragraph Group - Left Indent]
First Paragraph only gets a First line indent of 1" [Select the 1st paragraph - Page Layout Tab - Paragraph Group - More button - Special Indent]
Change all font - Arial, Size 16 [Home Tab - Font Group]
Page Background - Fill effect - parchment texture [Design Tab - Page Color - Fill Effects - Texture]
Page border, box, 1pt weight - Change the border so it's 4pts away from the top, bottom, left & right sides of the TEXT, not the edges of the paper [Design Tab - Page Borders - Options - From the margins]
In the first sentence, select the first "D". Make it a Drop Cap - Dropped [Insert Tab - DropCaps]
Signature Lines are NOT the same thing as Digital Signatures. Signature lines are just neat-looking lines with the "X" in front that tells a person where to sign their name in pen. Signature Lines can also have information about the "signer" printed under the X-line itself.
Insert a signature line with the following information - Miley, title = Diva, email = [email protected] [Insert Tab - Signature Line]
Watermarks are cool. Watermarks are text or pictures placed behind/under the text in your document. You can add text watermarks, such as Draft or Confidential, to your document. Microsoft Word has a gallery of watermarks to choose from, or you can create your own custom watermark, such as a company logo for your document.
Insert a Custom Text Watermark - with the text Burn After Reading [Design Tab - Watermarks - Custom Watermark - Text]
Do a print preview (Control + P) but don't actually click the print button to see if the signature line is covering the watermark. If it is please fix it by moving the signature line down a bit by hitting the Enter key a few times.
Do a spelling and grammar check (ALWAYS!!!) [Review tab]
Save this file as "Last Name + First Name + Diary Entry" as a PDF to your Desktop or Documents folder, make sure the open file after publishing checkbox is UNCHECKED and send me the PDF file for grading. [File tab - Save as - name the file, choose PDF in the Save as Type drop-down menu]

Dear Diary,
Why do they mock me? Why? I just want to be loved by all. Is that too much to ask? I bring so much joy to the world through my music and just when I think the tide is turning back in my favor, you guessed it, my arch nemesis Nicki utterly destroys me in front the whole world.
Should I take the high road? Or should I retaliate? I can't just keep crying myself to sleep every night wrapped up tightly in my red snuggie.
Maybe I can convince Taylor to continue her beef with Nicki and then Nicki will leave me alone.
Or maybe I'll take a giant wrecking ball to Nicki's Beverly Hills mansion. Lots of decisions to think about…
